On Eagles Wings

On Eagles Wings

Isaiah 40:29-31
  29 He gives strength to the weary
       and increases the power of the weak.

    30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
       and young men stumble and fall;

    31 but those who hope in the LORD
       will renew their strength.
       They will soar on wings like eagles;
       they will run and not grow weary,
       they will walk and not be faint.

Last night, Enoch led our YACG on a study with the topic “Busyness with Peace”, which used the key text above, which incidentally also was the verse given to Bee Lee for the week.

Much of the night’s emphasis was focused on the wonderful illustration of eagle’s wings. Lai Chin spoke of the great strength of God that she felt in considering this illustration symbolized in the majestic strength of the eagle. Alice imagined a scene where the mighty eagle of God swooped down and rescued her from enemies, carrying her away safely. (Shades of Superman)

Later, Jou Li shared with me an interesting insight. She noted that when eagles soar majestically across the heights of heaven, they do not do so on their own strength. They glide with the power of the wind. Likewise, we too, in soaring on wings like eagles, do so not on our own strength at all, but completely rely on the wind of God, His power and grace to carry us with supernatural strength.

God bless,

Jason
