Little Children, Young Men, Fathers
Scripture:-
12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake. 13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father. 14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one. 1 John 2:12-14

Observation:-
- There are 3 progressions, little children, young men, fathers
- These progressions speak of different stages of one’s Christian life
- Little Children refers to new believers:- they know their sins are forgiven in Jesus name, and they know they have a Heavenly Father they can pray to
- Young Men refer to believers who are becoming strong in the faith. The Word of God, who is Jesus Christ abides in them, and because of that, they are strong and able to overcome the evil one.
- Fathers refer to believers who have been in the faith a long time, and the main description of them is that they have known Jesus for a long time, not just known about Him but really known Him from walking with Him for many years.
Application
- Remember the basics – we are forgiven in Jesus name, we have access to God the Father because Jesus has made the way
- Abide in the Word of God, Jesus Christ. Grow strong in the Word by regular reading, study and memorization. Be aware of Christ in our hearts wherever we go, and we will be strong
- Seek to know Jesus Christ more and more each day.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank you that I am forgiven in Your name. Father God, thank You, that You hear me, and I have access to you through Your Precious Son. Help me always remember that. Lord Jesus, ever abide in me, and let Your Word grow strong in me that I may be strong in You and overcome the evil one. Lord Jesus, may I really know you more and more each day and walk with you always. In Your precious name I pray. Amen.
