Daniel 2: Facing a Crisis

Daniel 2: Facing a Crisis

On Friday, we were privileged to enter into an interesting Bible Study on Daniel 2 led by brother Bee Lee. King Nebuchadnezzar had issued a decree ordering the wise men and magicians of his court to tell him and interpret the dream that he had experienced. They were unable to do so, and even offended the king, to the point that he ordered the execution of all the wise men of Babylon, including Daniel.

When Daniel heard of the impending death sentence, he did not panic, but calmly inquired of the commander of the king’s guard sent to accost him, the reason for the king’s harsh sentence. Understanding the problem, he quickly realized that only God could save them from the situation. He then asked the king for more time. Then he sought the counsel, support and prayer of his friends. And they prayed to God together. In the night, God revealed the mystery to Daniel, and he was able to tell and interpret the dream. Immediately, Daniel broke into a song of praise to the Lord, who had saved them.

Lessons learned when facing a crisis:-

(a)    Don’t panic, stay calm
(b)    Find out more information, why the crisis happened
(c)    Focus on a solution, not blaming the cause
(d)    Ask for more time, if possible
(e)    Seek the counsel, support and prayer of friends
(f)      Pray to God for help
(g)    Be thankful when He delivers.

God bless you all,

Jason
