Hidden from the wise, revealed to children

Hidden from the wise, revealed to children

Scripture:
At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.
“All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
Matthew 11:25-27
Observation:
In this passage, our Lord begins by praising God the Heavenly Father in Heaven because He had hidden such great wisdom from the supposedly wise and learned but instead revealed them to humble folk, whom the Lord likened to little children. This is a great reminder to us that all wisdom comes from our Heavenly Father, and we need to be humble like little children in asking our Father for wisdom, never presuming that we already know so much and have little more to learn. In 1 Corinthians 1:28, Paul said “God chose the lowly things of the world and the despised things, the things that are not to nullify the things that are…”  It is the Lord’s nature to be pleased to bless the humble with wisdom but to bring down the proud and mighty in their foolishness.
Note too that our Lord addressed God the Father as Lord of Heaven and Earth. Our God is Lord of all the heavens and He is also Lord of all the earth. In praying the Lord’s prayer, we are also reminded of this, as we pray let Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
Our Lord then declares how all things have been committed to Him by His Father. Later Paul expounds on how all things, whether in Heaven above or on the earth below have all been brought under Christ and how in Jesus Christ all things hold together. The Lord then further adds how no one knows Him as the Son of God except the Father, and how no one knows the Father except the Son and those He chooses to reveal to Him.
Through Jesus Christ, our eyes have now been opened to recognize Him as the Son of God and as our Savior and Messiah. It is our Lord who taught us that God is our Father in Heaven, and He views us as His children too. As we are in God’s royal family now, our Lord Jesus is not only Lord and Master, but also our great eldest brother.
Application:
Remember that we always need to be humble before our great Heavenly Father in Heaven, and depend on Him for wisdom like little children. Thank Him that it is His nature to bless the humble but to bring down the proud.  Praise our Heavenly Father God in Heaven, as Lord of Heaven and Earth, for He indeed controls all the Heavens and all the Earth.
Praise our Lord Jesus that He has been given all authority in Heaven and on earth, and at His name every knee should bow, and He also releases this authority to us who follow His name. Praise our Heavenly Father, that through His Son Jesus Christ, we have now been accepted into His Royal Family, and we are His children. Our Lord Jesus Himself is our loving eldest brother, and we are so privileged to be accepted as part of the family.
Prayer:
Praise thee, Father in Heaven, for You are Lord of Heaven and Earth. You are great and mighty and glorious, Lord over everything. I seek thee, Heavenly Father God, and ask for Thy wisdom in my daily life. Help me I pray, precious Father, live a life worthy of Your calling. Lord Jesus, all authority in Heaven and Earth has been given to You for You alone Lord are worthy! I thank You, Lord Jesus, that through You, I too have been included in God the Father’s Royal Family. I thank You, Lord Jesus, that You are my Eldest Loving Brother in Heaven, full of wisdom and power. Guide me and lead me in following You, precious Lord. You make all things possible! Praise Your holy name. In Jesus name I pray,
Amen.
